Horological Association
of Maryland
Presidents Message
02/19/2010
Although we’ve
begun the year with weather interruptions we do have two meetings under our belt. Even though the weather is predicted to
be less than ideal Monday evening the 22nd we should be able to meet.
We haven’t
been able to hold a HAM board meeting as yet. I was hoping Dan Spath would be up and around soon but I don’t think that’s
going to happen. I spoke to Dan last night and he said we shouldn’t wait for him to have it. All board members should
email me with items for discussion and their ideas or concerns so that I can prepare the meeting agenda.
My agenda for
the association will be to continue our pursuit of horological knowledge with a view to a well rounded education in the processes
and skills required to enjoy the field. Members are always encouraged to communicate special horological needs and wants to
your leadership so we can craft programs and demonstrations for the benefit of everyone.
I’m looking
forward to seeing all of you on Monday. Please bring any of your friends whom you think might have an interest in any aspect
of horology. The more the merrier.
There will be a combined meeting of the local NAWCC Chapters
11 (Baltimore), 12 (Washington D.C.) and 141 (Frederick) in Woodsboro, MD on Saturday April 17th. 2010. Membership
in the NAWCC is required to attend this meeting or you can go as a guest of a member. Many HAM members are also members of
the NAWCC but if your not and would like to go we can certainly make arrangements to sponsor you. This is a great meeting
to meet new friends, buy stuff and learn from the exhibitors. A link to the flyer will be posted on our website.
